The Reunion

So, I'm in IL having a fabulous time visiting the in-laws. No matter how great things are here, there are a few things here that I'll never get used to... slow internet and no cell service. I should be honest and say that the upgrade to DSL is much faster, but it's not like my fios. I'm probably just disgruntled because I'm going through withdrawals without my phone....

So, no pictures and no idea when this will post, but I just had to get one post out about Ray's reunion before it all falls out of my head. Ray is a couple of years older than me. I'll be going to my reunion very soon. I thought I'd write a post letting you know exactly what I learned from attending his...

Here's my list of the top ten (David Letterman style) things I learned from Ray's Reunion...

10. I love Ray's class. He graduated with a great group of people. I'm sorry I didn't know most of them when I was in high school. I'm glad I can reconnect with them over the internet now.

9. I'm happy, well adjusted and glad I left Mayfield with Ray. We heard lots of very sad stories about how wrong things had gone for a few good people, some I thought had it made when I left for college. I think we are pretty well adjusted and normal but who knows what would have happened if we moved back here.

8. I love, love, love, Tami! I wish I had as much fun as she did. I hope she reads this to know just how great she really is. I wish she had made it to the after party. I was so happy to catch up with some of my other sorority sisters there too.

7. I'm getting older. Staying out until 2 a.m. makes me grumpy, especially when my children still insist on getting up at 6 a.m. and I have to get ready for church.

6. Alcohol, Youtube, Facebook and Myspace don't mix. Thankfully, I didn't learn this first hand. I don't think anyone really got too out of control. I was constantly worried about what I would find if I could log on this morning.

5. You can't be underdressed in Mayfield, KY. Shorts, flip flops and t-shirts are perfectly acceptable at any occasion. Cowboy hats and boots are strictly optional. No matter what, put on the Spanx.

4. You can be overdressed in Mayfield, KY. Luckily we learned this at my 10-year reunion. I didn't bust out the cocktail dress for either occasion. Nothing like looking like you're ready for the prom when you're in your mid thirties. That's right, I said it.

3. People still go to the bottoms and leave their beer in the car. I think I out grew this trend when I turned 20. (Mayfield is smack in the middle of a dry county. If you don't know what a dry county is, count yourself lucky. Sometimes, a girl just needs a beer.)

2. No matter how tan you are from the beach, if you haven't been to the tanning bed in 15 years, your butt will burn... quite literally.

1. I married the greatest graduate of the class of 1989. Love you Ray... even if it took to me until college to figure out how great you really are.

YEAH for a great reunion! I had to laugh at alcohol, MySpace and FaceBook not mixing!
