I'm pretty aggravated. I hear about people getting in trouble with their posts. This is my post that will probably get me in trouble. The only thing is, I won't name names and my neighbors aren't really internet savvy. So here goes...

Yesterday, Hanan was, as usual, taking 10 years to finish her dinner. I was cleaning up. Arleigh asked if she could go out with Tucker. I couldn't see the harm. I usually make Arleigh and Hanan go out together. Anyway, after about 15 minutes, I see that Arleigh is talking to my neighbors and then she's flying into the house. She's screaming that there is a rat in the back yard and I need to get the chemicals. What!?!

As it turns out there was a giant dead rat in the backyard. Actually, it wasn't so giant, just big for a tree rat. When I was a kid at the mill I saw rats that looked like small cats.

Why am I angry? My neighbor had Arleigh confused. Apparently someone from the backside has put out poison. It counter acts the corn that my other neighbor insists on feeding all the other wildlife. The squirrels annoy me. The pigeons that come for the corn make me mildly irritated. Now poison filled rats!

When do I get to say it's not okay to give them places to hide and things to eat and them blame the other neighbors? I guess I'll have a reason next year. I've decided that our garden will no longer have tomatoes and peppers. We are only planting herbs and flowers next year. I don't want to be the pot calling the kettle black. Apparently the little boogers are fairly aggresive so my kids can't play outside by themselves. They have not reappeared in our shed. I can't find any other nests. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
